I had a model maker, which I guess was the girl version of the monster maker. You could change out the hairstyles and make the model's skirt be plaid or flowered or whatever. What a rip.

Fashion Plates! That's what they were called. Not nearly as cool as monsters, in any event.

I loved that thing too. I remember that the school super-intendent's son--Matt something--always wanted to come over and use the Monster Maker. He also wore a homemade Ghostbuster backpack. He was real popular.

they had the fashion plates version at my daycare. i had completely forgotten about this toy until your blog. i loved the hell out of that thing and its pink embossed dress parts.
